Fourth generation Southwest Kansas rancher and farmer, Lettie McKinney, is walking an entrepreneurial path like the generations before her.

In addition to managing the MC Bar Ranch, Lettie hosts travelers in
The Bin, an On-Ranch Vacation Rental; welcomes wedding parties at The Roundtop, a modern+rustic event venue; host The Lettie Show, a inspirational podcast for entrepreneurs, educates other with her speeches.

  • The Road Back Home

    Sometimes the road to where you are supposed to be NEVER looks like what you had in your mind. Actually sometimes its complete opposite of everything you had imagined. Lettie talks about how returning home to the family ranch to become the 4th generation wasn’t at all what she had planned. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry, it will make you realize all those little nudges we get in life are up to us to listen to the inner calling within. She talks about the triumphs and the trials. How they all lead to exactly where she is today. She will share her journey of entrepreneurship and cultivating opportunity in her little town of 1300 people.   • Finding your place in the family business

    Are you passionate about returning to a family operation? Whether it is in ranching, farming, mechanical shops, auto parts stores, the feed store, an accountant service, you name it. Lettie brings an impactful message on life lessons she has learned returning to the family business. She talks about how to communicate with older generations and not come back being that “know it all kid”. Finding her place in the business, then carving out a niche that she was passionate about. You will for sure fired up about that next step you have been needing to take, or the next business you want to start up after hearing this impactful message.

  • Direct Sales Beef and Agtourism

    Thinking outside the box got McKinney to where she is today. But she didn’t use the same practices that her grandad used or even her great grandad. She had to reach outside of the norm, pioneer a trail, and bring additional revenue to their operation. McKinney Carved out several different business to be able to return home. Her specialties are direct sales beef. Which include talking to customers and consumers. What the whole education piece looks like where to even start when you begining to share your story. Not only did she utilize direct sales beef, she also brought in several different ag tourism opportunities such as AIR BNB and a wedding venue. McKinney will inspire you to use the resources that you have on your operation to grow and be sustainable in an ever trying time.
